"I just wanted to comment on the outstanding service I received from Blue Ribbon. I have had BRHW for about 5 years now and every time I have an issue they are always prompt to resolve it. Today was no different, I came home last night to a flooded garage, from an overflowing water heater. I called BRHW and the next morning they had someone out to take care of the problem. When it came to replacing the water heater the contactor called for approval and installed it immediately, and filled it up, and hauled the old one away. I now have hot water again with no out of pocket costs. thank you so much Blue Ribbon for all you do. I will never let my contract expire with service like this."

I am new to Colorado as a whole, but the move here from California enabled me to buy my first ever home. Having never been a stranger in a strange land when it came to get help for repairs, but Hilary not only walked me through the process, she even took the extra time to make sure everything was okay afterward. Moreover, as often happens, I did not hear from the repairman right away and so I naturally called Hilary again for my status. With every call, she remained calm, friendly, professional and helpful. "My realtor purchased Blue Ribbon Home Warranty for me as a closing gift. I wasn't sure how valuable it was, since everything on the inspection was great, and this is a townhome, so I figured the HOA would take care of any problems that came up. I was wrong. The first weekend I was there, the garage door opener stopped working. I called the HOA on Saturday, no answer. So I called my realtor and she told me to call Blue Ribbon. She explained that the HOA only takes care of the outside of the place and that the home warranty takes care of the inside, including the garage. Well I felt a bit silly, actually dumb for confusing an HOA with a landlord... Anyway, I called Blue Ribbon Home Warranty, figuring that they would be closed (I really should have read the contract, which I have since done.), and was pleasantly surprised that somebody returned my call within 10 minutes. The man who called seemed to have a difficult time understanding me and it sounded like he was busy doing I don't know what. It just seemed like he was distracted. I asked if he was in a different country or state (thinking he was just a call center guy, which wold explain his attitude), and he told me that they don't use call centers. He and all of the people at Blue Ribbon are in Colorado! That surprised me and is a refreshing change from pretty much every other company I call (phone company, dish network etc.) After a few minutes of him getting my information, (name, address, problem), he asked if I could open and close the door manually. I told him I tried, but couldn't budge it. He then asked me if I had released the door from the opener. I had no idea what he was talking about. At that point he seemed to stop whatever activity he was doing and I finally felt like he was focusing on my phone call. He very kindly talked me through how to "release” the door from the opener, so that it could be opened manually. I had no idea. I've never had a garage door opener. So after pulling the string, I again tried to open the door, and I could get it open, but only a few inches. He said that was unusual, and told me that he could send someone out that day, but that since this wasn't an emergency, if I wanted someone to come out that day I would have to pay any overtime charges. I was sick that weekend and really didn't plan on going anywhere, so I told him that Monday would be ok. He said he would call the repair company and that they would be in touch first thing Monday morning. To my surprise, about 20 minutes after we hung up, the repair company called me! They told me that they would be out first thing Monday morning and would call when they were on their way. That was awesome! So, first thing Monday morning I got a call from the repair guy and he was at my home 15 minutes later. I am sorry that I don't remember the guy's name, or the company. I was still really sick. He immediately went to work figuring out the problem, while I went back to lay on the couch. He fixed it, then he had me come out and gave me a quick lesson on garage door openers and showed me how to get the door open if the opener stopped working. He was just great! I happily paid him the co-pay ($55.00), and he was on his way. The very next weekend, my kitchen sink backed up! I tried the disposal, but it didn't drain the sink, so, again on a Saturday, I called Blue Ribbon. This time a woman called me back within 10 minutes. I explained the problem and she told me she would have a repairman call me back to schedule a time to come out. I asked if I would have to wait until Monday to get it repaired and she assured me that this was an urgent problem and that it would be taken care of that day, whew! Again, just a few minutes after we hung up, a repairman called me an told me that he was on a job and would be out to my place within a couple of hours. He was very nice. He arrived about an hour and a half later. He came in and immediately went to work. He had to take all the stuff from under my sink out (I am embarrassed that I didn't think to do that before he go here, but he laughed and assured me that it was no big deal at all. He told me about people who have so much stuff stored under the sink that he spent twice as much time emptying the cabinet than he did on the repair! He figured out the problem quickly, and roto-rooted the pipes. He then showed me the large amount of gross build up in the pipe and told me that it had been there for a long time. Then he gave me some quick tips to keep plumbing lines clean, told me what NOT to put down the disposal (like pasta and corn), and that was that, or so I thought. I again paid the copay and asked him how much this would have cost me if I didn't have the warranty. He said that since it was a weekend, it probably would have run me at least $150.00! After spending my life savings buying my townhome, I can tell you right now I do not have that kind of money. I wish I would have thought to ask the garage door guy what that would have cost, but I am sure it would have been more than the copay! Anyway, I thanked the plumber as he was taking his tools out to his truck and said goodbye and he said he wasn't quite done. He then came back in and put everything back in the cabinet! I told him I was happy to do that, and he explained that he just cannot leave any mess where he has been working and it was his pleasure. After he left, I called my realtor and thanked her so much for giving me the Blue Ribbon Home Warranty. I told her everything that happened and needless to say she was happy, but she said that she wasn't surprised. She said she has used several different home warranties and that Blue Ribbon is the only one that she really trusts. She said that even when something isn't covered, the people at Blue Ribbon go out of their way to help. I did tell her that I thought that the people who called me back when I called for service could have been more pleasant, but I could overlook that since the repair people were so awesome. She assured me that she would let Blue Ribbon know about this, and was sure that once she did, I wouldn't have that concern again. I haven't had any more problems since then, thank god, but it is so good to know that when I do, Blue Ribbon will be there for me. I was really happy to find out that I can renew this warranty! Like I stated at the beginning, my realtor paid for my first term. I will be happy to pay for it from here on out. I really recommend this company. I have a friend who is looking for a house to buy and I told him he would be nuts not to get this warranty!"

"I have been a Blue Ribbon Home Warranty customer for ten years. When I purchased my home, it had the basic warranty plan.I eventually up graded to the gold plan on my house, but I have not had to use my warranty but three times in ten years. As luck would have it my third time has been this month. Unfortunately no time is a good time for your air conditioning/furnace to quit working. But after notifying Blue Ribbon Home Warranty of my dilemma, I was assured they would have a service company contact me within 24 hours. Not 2 hours had passed and I received a call from Calibrating Air to set up a convenient time for me, to have someone come out and look at my unit. Someone from their office called on the day they were suppose to show up, and stated that they were going to be able to come to my house sooner than the time that was set up. I thought GREAT! Bart from Calibrating Air showed up on my doorstep with a smile and a flashlight. After looking at my unit he explained everything in detail what was wrong with my unit. After some careful conversations with John at Blue Ribbon Home Warranty and Bart the decision was made that my furnace had to be replaced. I can not thank John enough for taking all of the difficulties I was having, into consideration when it came to making the decision about which way was the best solution to my problem. He helped me out in more ways then anyone can possibly imagine. I do not want to go in to detail, but both of these men treated me like I was a human being, not just a number. Every year as I made my payments to Blue Ribbon Home Warranty I always wondered if I was just throwing my money away, but now I can honestly say I am so glad that I had this company in my corner. Actually there was one year I did not have to pay a premium, because I had not made a claim in four years. WOW!!!!!!! For once something I had invested in was well worth the money that was spent. "We were given Blue Ribbon as a wedding gift when we bought our home over 23 years ago.Next Month (May) will be 23 years married & with Blue ribbon Home Warranty.Lt is so nice to have repairs done by a company that already screens & interviews the repair tech's & I know I am getting a quality insured person that is coming to my home. I had a serious Gas Stove problem that would have blown up my house & the Tech disconnected my Stove for Safety & Blue Ribbon purchased us a NEW one. Another Tech had worked on the Stove that came with the House more then once & Mickey Moused the repairs & it was amazing we didn;t have a explosion. There Tech;s are honest, knowledgable. I am also a Heart Patient & our Heat went out in the dead of a cold winter Night & they came out LATE one Night & worked & got it repaired & up & running & there were Alot service calls due to the storm & we were taken care of within hours. Also had my refrigator go out & was leaking some gases day before Thanksgiving & Blue Ribbon replaced that with a house full of guests & ton of food that had to stay cold. This just a few emergenies they;ve handled over the years not to mention all the little things like when my dryer Element went out . the Hot Water heater the washer several times.It;s REALLY nice to call ONE NUMBER & FILE a CLAIM & know Blue Ribbon knows who to call for me & have them contact me for scheduling my repairs and I will be Fairly Charged if any more times than Not I haven;t had to pay any out of pocket. My Plan really protects the right type of coverge I need. I am sooo Glad there is a Company out there like this I guess it says it all that I am a Happy Customer 23 years now & counting. "So, after one experience with BRHW, i feel pretty good about them. On a cold winter night, we had no heat. The service repair guy was great, it was only a thermostat. The frustration i had was with the gal who got my call. It was late, about 11 pm on a Saturday night, so i didn't know what kind of response time to expect upon calling. I called several times to find out what she could tell me about getting me a visit, and i was frustrated because all she could tell me was "i've sent out the message”. I didn't get help until the next day, and the repairman took the blame for his poor response time. He even brought his son out because he had parent duty at the time. All fine, except maybe BRHW could have more repair guys on call to help the clients. I was pleased there was no "after hours/wkend” fees which i would have expected if the company was shady. So, i am gonna renew this month and see what happens next time, so stay tuned. On a different note, i absolutely love that John responds to these reviews and i find his responses perfectly sensible and believable. "My family and I bought a house this summer and it had a few issues that the sellers could not afford to fix for us so my realtor recommended that we purchase a warranty from Blue Ribbon. A few months later our hot water heater broke but because it was not in good working condition when we bought the house, and therefore wasn't covered by the warranty. The Manager, John Oldani, and his crew went above and beyond what anyone would to do to help us. It was Thanksgiving weekend, we had no money and no way to purchase a hot water heater and without John's and Blue Ribbon Home Warranty's help, we would still be without hot water. "I have had Blue Ribbon Home Warrenty for about 5 years now and it seams that everytime i have a problem and I call upon Blue Ribbon Home Warrenty for there help they never let me down. Yesterday I came home to a flooded garage from a leaking water heater. I called Blue Ribbon and they sent out a local plumber the next day ato service it. After reviewing the water heater it was best to replace it. The plumber called BRHW to get approval to install a new heater. BRHW did not hesitate and the new heater was installed. "I had two service contractors come out today as scheduled. One was Wayne of Dependable Appliance and the other was Tom of SCC Electric. They were both very professional and expediant in their jobs. I have also had to have some plumbing repairs and it has always been Jaimie that came to do the work, I believe he works for Colorado Springs Plumbing, and he has always done an excellent job. I prefer to have the same guy come out as this allows a knowledgeable relation to be had allowing me to have trust in them and not feel like I am being taken advantage of. This is my second year in using Blue Ribbon (I will renew) and so far everything has been great with them and the contractors the have sent out to my house to do the repairs. To me, I do not feel as I am being taken advantage of by Blue Ribbon or the contractors. "I called Jackie about needing a repair on a Central Air Unit. We are having very hot days and I am sure the repair staff is very busy with air conditioning calls. Scott called promptly and scheduled Nick to do the repair. Nick showed up after already working a full day just to be able to get my Air unit up and running before the 95 degree heat the next day. Nick had it diagnosed, showed me the problem, informed me of the repair that it would need and had it fixed within an hour. Thank you guys so much for the fast and courteous service.
