"This home buyers warranty company was given to by the builder and went into affect 1 year later. My husband & I are very very dissatisfied with this warranty company. Item that were covered are no longer covered. This company initially provided structural coverage, but since its inception over time has disappeared from our agreement along with certain aplliance coverage. The customer service seem uniformed about what us or is not covered. We have contractors to come into our home damage our appliance & get away with it. The 2-10- HBW has done nothing to address this particular incident. We recently found out that our washer & dryer was covered in 2008-2009, but since then is no longer covered. Please note that we did not cancel the coverage, it just became uncovered by the agreement without any notice to us. Each year when we renew coverage we ask about the coverage and have been told that we all of appliances are covered. Recently, we found out that they changed warranty/policy definition & device fee and we were not notified, but they have receive payment consistently evey year since 2006. We bought our home brand new, we watch them build it from the ground up. This company was suppose offer structural coverage as well as appliance, plumbing, & other coverages. However, since initial enrollment the coverages had disappeared without so must as whisper to us. When contacting the about damaged appliance because their contractor, we have not received any response. When called about the changes made to our agreement and not being notified at the time if renewal or prior to renewal we were given severe attitude when trying rectify the problem. We are now playing the blame game, being transferred from one department to another , of no one what\'s to take responsibility for the misinformation provided to us or their poor contractors sent to our home. It is really unbelievable how businesses can take for granted their customers and treat them any kind of way. We have been loyal customers for over 6 years & look at what that had gotten us."

"I would give them 0 starts if possible. You pay premiums for very little. On several occasions, we have experienced that the warranty covers very little/nothing. The trades that they contract with show late or not at all, inflate billing, and/suggest repairs that are unneccessary. One AC repair man actually cried as he told me about past AC repair employers that made him overbill. He recommended that we pay $1700/Allied $800 (approved by Allied). We got a second opinion and learned that the repair was unnecessary. Save you money. Don\'t buy from Allied. Ron B."

"A person from Priority Plumbing came out and did not complete the job completely, therefore another person came out and instead of assessing the problem started out by telling the homeowner my 82 year old mother you owe me $75.00. She tried to explain how the problem was not only preexisting but this was a recall and he not only did not want to hear it but was rude and left the premises as if she wa a second class citrizen. My mothe called the company who kept telling American Home Shield that my mother owed them money. Upon first calling the company the person adimitted that the notes were in desisive and made no sense. When I called the company they said they would fix it and send someone out there in order to remedy the problem. THIS NEVER HAPPENDED. My mother has been left with a faucet in her kitchen that has not worked since August, as this is when she called for a recall, since the first person did not fix it correctly. The company sent her a coupon but if you cannot wash your dishes or rinse your food properly we have entered the zone of health issues. I need to know if this all about the money, as for each contractor that comes througj - mind you this is the way they treat my mother - you must first pay them $75.00 (the price was raised without notification) before they even attempt to resolve the problem. Let it be known that two times the person has taken the money and then decided they could not help my mother and/or handle the problem at hand. Thereby saying my mother is being ripped off. Do I have to call AARP. It has been before early August, long enough, as this is December to assign someone this job paid for and asked to be complete months ago. Your company asked for verification that the contractor was paid, twice, and it was given copies of checks, twice, and other receipts, twice, and while your company tends to be compensating the other company be aware that your revenue comes from those of us which whom you tend to care little, if any, about. My mom has already had to clean her ham and turkey with the water hose please let her use the sink for Christmas."

"BFS was, on average, pretty good at responding to my service issues. However, my problems with BFS lie in their coverage. NONE of the problems in my home were covered with the deductible. I had to pay out for leakages (even though plumbing is covered under the contract), electrical issues, and repairs on my A/C. -Lucy P. "

"Have used these guys since I bought my house. I Have continued to use even after we moved out and decided to keep as a rental property. Although there were a couple of times I was unsure of what they covered, if they indeed didn't cover it, they explained why, showed me where on the contract it stated such, and helped me get the fixes I needed . I can't complain when the contract I signed says so."

"I have all my appliances insured or so I thought through BPG Buyers Protection . There is no direct line to speak to a person, only an answering service. I have emails to prove I purchased my warranties in 2011. When I finally got a hold of a representative two weeks after my first call, he said I had not registered. I then proved I had by forwarding all the emails verifying my registration. I never heard back. I then began calling everyday until Finally a rep called me back. He could not give me a password and mine did not work, making it impossible to use their website. After three weeks he told me he could file my claim himself, leaving me wondering why he didn't do it sooner. Two months later a service person came and he said he could not get a hold of the company to put in the order for the parts needed to repair my dryer. So, I have a dryer that doesn't work and nothing I can do about it. "

"This company does not ever pay! Everything is either normal wear and tear or pre existing. This is after endless days to get a tech out. The worst part is they charge you the service fee, even when the technician has to keep coming back because he didnt fix it the first time. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE THE WORST! "This is a completely unethical company. This company has refused to provide any services every time I requested services. About a month and a half ago I had a leak in the bath tub faucet and they said that the problem is not covered by my policy. I tried very hard to explain to them that it may be due to a plumbing issue. But, they strongly refused to assist me in anyway. So, I sent a plumber and got it fixed. The plumber had to cut open the bathroom wall and replace a valve and fix the plumbing issue. This is an issue that would have been covered by this warranty company. I called the company again and told them that they need to pay me for the issue that was covered by my policy, but they strongly refused that too. Then, I faxed my invoices to the service manager explaining what happened and requested a refund. But, I never heard anything from them. So, I kept calling and asking them to let me know what was going on with my request. Nobody helped me in any way to find out what they have done with my request. So, I called the service manager and left many messages in her voice mail. I have called and left messages almost every day, asking her to call me back. The service manager never returned any of my calls. Last week, when I called the company a representative said that my claim has been denied. I told him to send me a letter or an email indicating the decision, but nothing was received so far. This company is conducting business in such an unethical way. They have found a way to refuse to provide the services that are covered by the policy and get away with it."

"I’d like to share about my experience with Home Warranty of America. In case you’re in a hurry, let me say simply they did not do what they promised. I wouldn’t choose them again and I wouldn’t recommend them. If you have more time, let me explain that we had the sellers pay for a year of their service when we bought our home. It was a pretty good year- we had no claims, so we had no complaints. We felt pretty good about HWA so we figured we’d renew our policy. About that time my dad, who lived with us, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We had a terrible month and then he passed away in my house. During that time our policy ended. When I realized, I immediately called them and reinstated the policy for $650. There were TWO days we were not covered, but we were told that due to our circumstances, they would look at it like the two days hadn’t happened. As luck would have it, our double electric built-in ovens went out at the same time. The 15 year old units were original to the house. I called to report the occurrence, and was promptly told that since it happened during our two days of lapsed coverage they wouldn’t be able to do anything. I told them about dad, and they agreed to disregard the two days- it would be as if there was no lapse. I felt pretty good about them then. But things quickly deteriorated from there. They took over 10 days to send someone- after one who canceled same day, when I had already requested off of work. When the repair guy finally came- Old Guys Appliance Repair in San Antonio, TX- he told us that very day that the ovens would not be able to be repaired since they don’t make the part anymore. After (once) daily calls, I finally got the home warranty company and the Old Guys to talk to each other. (They both ran me around each day before I got them both on two different phones and told them what the other was saying- so high school!!) After they confirmed what we’ve known for a week, the home warranty people told me the claim would go to ‘options’. I was told options would either be replacement, or cash allowance. Good. No. Bad. Options came back saying they would offer us a total of $100 cash for the price of the part that is no longer made. They said that since we were in our first 30 days of our contract they would not replace anything covered in our contract. I reminded them what I’d been told about waiving the lapse, about having a whole year under our belts with no claims at all, and they basically told us that even with our extenuating circumstances that they wouldn’t pay more than $100. Brandon and Jennifer both treated me like I’m dumb or something, repeating themselves a lot, trying to get me to believe what they were saying. I was incredulous and questioning how they came to that after promising something else. I had to tell them both to stop repeating themselves, to answer my questions. I was not yelling or being rude. I was calm. They had no reason to act that way. I feel sorry for them both. What a crappy job they have, and what a crappy company they work for! This is literally causing us a hardship. You might already know how expensive a funeral is. You might understand how hard it is to bury your dad. You might know what it’s like to be kicked when your down, to have insult added to injury. Home Warranty of America wasted precious time (it’s Mid-December, and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t use their oven during this time of year), lied to us about waiving two days of lapse even with painful extenuating circumstances, and were rude, cheap, and terrible to work with throughout this whole experience. When we needed them most, they were not there for us. They do not give a crap about us or about you. They only want to find ways to get out of paying for claims. I guess that’s the nature of insurance, the house always wins. But again, if you’re shopping for home warranty companies, steer clear of these guys. They’ll do anything to get out of paying, and they’ll be happy to have you wait a long time and then pay $75 to their preferred vendor before letting you know you’re screwed. Buyer beware: They’ll say whatever they need to get you to sign on, then totally let you down when things get rough. Consider yourself warned!"

"I\'m a first time homeowner living in a single family home with my wife and son. We\'ve had O.R for the two years we\'ve owned the house. Since then everything seemed to break with it being a new home. O.R. The fridge once and the A/C and Heat 3 times. Whenever I called them, they put the order in immediately, however that doesn\'t mean the technician sees it. I\'ve had to call the tech directly and make contact otherwise they might not show up for a couple of days. Today is the third time my heater has failed. I called O.R. went through the normal process and called the tech. He assured me he would be at my house today. Overall, the company could do better at making contact with their contractors, but everything else so far isn\'t too bad. I\'ve noticed most warranty companies are like this so I\'m not going to blame anyone specifically. Just make sure you make contact with the contractor yourself otherwise it may be a while. - Palmer, AL"

"HORRABLE HOME WARRENTY CO. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!! So called to have my heater repaired, technology came out same day, but the technician comes out to fix a broken fan in the a/c unit. Bottom line the would not cover the repair, I was told when it was put in 4+ years ago before I had bought the home a plug was kep in the fan, and after 4 years+ at least the fan broke and since it was \"not properly installed\" the wouldn\'t cover the repair. The seem to find a loop hole to get outta covering the repairs. And when the technician called back multiple times to reach a class rep no one was available to speak with, so I\'m with out heat and it\'s in the 30\'s tonight. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!"

"I have made several calls to S1 and I recieved no contractor service call. I am left totally in the dark with an Emergency Service request due to complete loss of cooling in extreme tempurature conditions. I have no idea now when the contractor will call, if ever and whether or not I can get Emergency Service over the weekend. I am very unhappy with Service One's inability to locate contractor's that are able to call and schedule and give assurance of scheduling an emergency service call.- Russ S."

"Stanley Warranty is the worst home service warranty company I have ever encountered. I have been waiting for my claim checks for $250 each and been calling them almost every week and 6 months later, I still don\'t have the checks! Then 1 week ago, they came out with an excuse that my contract has been expired but everything is wrong since I paid for 2 years contract so I dont have to pay a deductible during a service call. It\'s been 3 weeks now that I\'m calling the customer service, claim department asking for this Gregg person who is the District Manager and leaving messages to fix the situation and still has no answer 2 weeks later!!! the whole service department and billing department sucks!!! they keep on promising that I will get the phone call back to fix the situation but everything was a hoaxed!!! DO NOT BUY A WARRANTY SERVICE CONTRACT FROM THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL NEVER GET PAID WHEN YOU HAVE A CLAIM! MY RATING WOULD HAVE BEEN DOUBLE NEGATIVE ZERO IF ITS AN OPTION!"
